Delays, Detours, and Divine Timing

A few weeks ago, I was laying in bed after packing for my flight the next morning. The news was playing in the other room, and every headline sounded like a reason to reschedule.

I almost did.

Travel didn’t look convenient. The timing wasn’t perfect. But I knew I was traveling with Cecilia Castillo Cossio. She pivots when necessary and moves anyway.

I knew we were going to sit under a 50+ year veteran in the speaking industry, Les Brown.

And I knew opportunities like that don’t wait for perfect weather.

So we went.

We ended up stuck in Atlanta a few extra days because of the storm. Flights delayed. Plans adjusted. Extra hotel nights we didn’t anticipate.

But I’ve learned something.

Sometimes the delay is part of the design. Bigger plans are at play.

This week, the photos came in. I’m sharing a few here.

They were worth every detour.

Thank you, @Tola Faminu, for your eye and energy behind the lens.

And thank you to Bill Walsh for the introduction and the proximity. Access matters. Rooms matter. Mentorship matters.

Growth doesn’t always look glamorous in the moment.

Sometimes it looks like deciding to go anyway.
